The dishwasher circulation pump and motor assembly is responsible for pumping water through the spray arms during the wash and rinse cycles. It ensures that water is distributed at the correct pressure to effectively clean dishes and completely dissolve detergent. Over time, the motor bearings can wear out, or debris can clog the internal impeller. When this assembly fails, the dishwasher may become exceptionally noisy, stop spraying water entirely, fail to start its wash cycle, or leave dishes dirty with undissolved detergent pods.
